4-Matic Questions

After last winter my wife is not certain that she wants to drive our E300 this winter. I have been looking for all wheel drives. Any advice on 4-Matics? (W124 vs W210)

From the one picture you can see the transmission pan. Do W210 4-Matics not have a belly pan to cover the transmission or is it missing on this car?
