Dome Light Won't Turn Off. **Please Help**
I just got my first MB.
It's a 2001 SLK 320. I am having a problem with the dome light not turning off when it is in automatic mode. The door lock switch inside the car will also not lock the doors. It will unlock but not lock. I read some where that the door lock switch will not lock the doors if the door is open. I am assuming this is all related to the same problem. I pulled out the PSE out and took it all apart. It did not seem wet or corroded at all. I then checked all the door switches and boot lid switch with an OHM meter. They all seem to be working fine. Could it be a shorted dome light itself? I also noticed that the alarm isn’t working properly. I can set it and the doors will lock and the light will flash but the alarm will not go off if I open the door. I’m assuming it’s all related to the same problem. Can any one help with this? Thanks in advance. |

dome light

Just an idea, but my wife's car is a 96 Taurus. Dome light stayed on. Taurus Car Club of America forum advised me to spray door latch with wd-40 or similar. Worked instantly. Worth a try. |

I have a 1999 SLK 230 , the problem I'm experiencing is, both doors do not put the dome light on when opened, the light works if I turn it to on, but not on entry switch, sprayed contact cleaner in the push buttons on the B panel , but nothing, any ideas please.
