got the "brake lining wear" msg... once??

when i turned the car off tonight but leaving the key in the 2nd position to keep the radio on, i got a "brake lining wear" message.. but the rears were replaced not so long ago, and the fronts looked ok on inspection?

funny thing is, i restarted the car and i have not seen the msg again. is the brake wear warning supposed to go off and never come back?

ON that Mb the brake wear can come on & go back off due to the fact that the sensor has a "grounding" wire that must rub against the rotor to light that MIL light.

ON many cars including newer MB the sensor wire is a "cut-thru" system that operates the light by opening the circuit wire instead of grounding that sensor wire.
