97 E420 Wiring harness
How big a deal is it to replace the engine wiring harness? It seems like it should be fairly straighforward, but does anyone know of any special issues that I need to be aware of? I would rather not pay the dealer $500+ for a few hours of unplugging and plugging wires. Thanks!

When you get the new one simply lay it out on the floor & compare the connectors with the one on the engine. then start with the un-plugging the old one & re-plugging the new one. that simple.

Why do you think your wiring harness is bad?
Bad wiring harnesses are supposed to be limited to 1992-1995 models. Yours would be the first 1997 model I've ever heard of with a bad harness.
