I am going to be preparing a friend's '85 280SL for the coming season, and I've never really noticed the oil filter when performing other maintenance on this car. Where is the filter, and is it a spin-on type or a canister type?
TIA for any light you could shed on this. (The car is not nearby, so I can't just go look at it. Colin |

Its a canister type filter. It is assessable from underneath the car on the drivers side.
