300CE question

I have been looking for a used 300CE. I noticed that they come from the factory equipped with roof rails to which a roof rack, or some other form of transport, can be attached.

Do you know if I can fit an after-market roof rack to the 300CE rails? Ar ethe racks available used?

I have not checked my local Benz dealer, but that may be the next step.

Thanks.

Have you tried ************************ ?

You can also swing by their warehouse (open to the public). It's over in Van Nuys or North Hollywood. I've been there several times.

I have an '89 300 CE where I modified some standard Thule roof rack bars to fit this vehicle. Drilled the bars so an appropriately-sized metric bolt threads into the four roof fasters and then fabricated 4 wooden "feet" with a leather base -- to avoid scarching the roof surface -- that keeps the bars above the roof line a couple inches.

Cheap, carries skies, lumber, etc just fine. ...

Unless you cobble something up, you're limited to dealer or Oris.

Does Performance keep those Oris racks in stock at the warehouse? Interesting.

Thanks,
Jason

They keep most of the stuff in their catalogs in stock. It's worth a phone call.
