I am trying to buy new rear door stops in an ongoing effort to keep my 83 240D looking brand new. They are Chassis Number specific. The only problem is I cant find the chassis Number on the front door driver side sill. Any other places? |

Under the hood at the passenger side on the firewall near the battery just below a rubber on the engine side (if I remember correctly)...and it should start with WDB123....

Your vin number should be on a plate that is riveted to the post between the front and rear doors. Also your number should be on the windshield frame, driver's side, half way up. The number you need for "serial number specific" parts would be the last 6 numbers.
