Hi all,

I'm moving in a few months to a place about 1 mile from where I work. I have a '91 190e 2.6 with 142K miles and I love the car. I assume it is a bad idea to drive the car only one mile to work, but I'm just at the distance where driving will be necessary on some days (i.e., rain). What is a safe minimum distance to drive to avoid abusing my car? I'm very willing to take a detour on the way to work to save my car!

This is a tough question.
Our test drive route is about 3 miles, the engine on most cars will be warm by the end, but not hot. The best thing to do is drive it when needed and then really drive it well on the weekend.
