Gosh I luv that CIS-KE system.......
Trying to get it set for it's biannual smog check and I get nothing but grief.
First, the battery dies and won't hold a charge. Car's not driven enough. Get a battery. Check the duty cycle. It's close. Lean it a bit. Go for a drive. Idle starts to fluctuate and holds steady at 1,100 RPM. Duty cycle stuck at 45% indicating a bad airflow meter. GREAT. Replaced the pot. about 15k or just over 3 years ago. Check air flow meter and it definately has a slight open circuit at idle. Looks like an other pot. is in my future. Best I can figure is the arm is to close the replacement pot's substrate causing the accelerated wear. I'll have a better idea once I remove the injection to replace. Total pain in the ars..... Car in question is a 16V and there is no chance to replace without removing the whole intake.........again for about the 5th time. I have a complete love / hate relationship with my car...... I really like the looks of that new Lexus IS.....maybe the ISF? Just venting. Tinker |

IS-F is teh bomb. You'd still be bombing your neighborhood roads 10 years later with that. And no hate relationship it'll love you long time.
