2001 e320 oil full light comes on

Hi all, I been away awhile mainly becaues my car runs great..2000 c230 k, but my friend just bought a used 01 e 320 with 86k on it. He called me today, because his oil lights comes on, but he said his oil level is full and appears clean.
Can any one add his or her wisdom as to what they think it is?...
Thanks
Al

Not unheard of for a sensor to be faulty. Is an easy replacement when doing an oil change.

First I'd make certain they are checking the oil on "level" ground after sitting a few hours.

Which message is coming on? Does it say "Reduce Oil Level"?
