New Behr radiator South African AF with sticker only?

5 yr old Nissen rad leaks a little at the top transmission cooler line fitting.
Thinking of replacement,Behr or Nissen?
One poster said the Behr that he got was a generic with a Behr sticker on only.Is that true?
Now Behr rad are not that much different in price than a Nissens only 10-15 bucks more.
Is 5 year considered normal for a rad to quit?

Nissen ain't what it used to be...

Based on my experience with the 3 row Nissen units sold for Volvo and Audi, the quality of workmanship that once marked the Nissen product as worth the extra $$ is just not there anymore.

The only saving grace is they can be repaired by a rad shop easier than the Aluminum/Plastic units but again most shops charge a flat rate that could be equal to the cost of a Aluminum/Plastic replacement.

What about Blackstone? Do they mfg for MB?

my tropical Nissens all-metal for a Volvo 740 's paint starts flaky a few weeks after installation too.
The Blackstone that I removed (15 yrs old)just preventatively is still sitting in in garage in case this supposedly new Nissens fails.

Really doesn't hurt to always check the dealer price. I got a behr from my MB dealer for $200 for my 90 300SE.
