300CE vs 300E differences
I just picked up a non-running '90 300CE fixer. Obviously the doors and rear window are unique but how many more parts are different to 300E? I was surprised the fenders and hood are listed differently from the 300E. I believe the headlights, grille, and maybe the front bumper are the same as 300E. Are the windshields different? BTW, if anyone has a source for these body parts in white, let me know.
It has the DOHC M104 but has the 3.0 size with the same CIS injection as the M103. I assume the exhaust and driveshaft are shorter because of the shorter wheelbase. Are the center consoles shorter? Are the wheel offsets the same? What else is or is not interchangeable with the 300E? This must be why this model is more expensive with less common or available parts. |

Very few if any body parts ate the same..interior parts are usually interchangeable.
Chassis parts are mostly interchangeable. Engine parts are not.

According to my Mitchell manual, the fenders are the same part number from 86 to 95 coupes and sedans, non diesel. Hoods likewise from 86 to 93 and different from 94-95. Again, no difference from coupe to sedan. Windshield is different, but the rear bumpers seem to be the same for coupe and sedan,,, year dependent of course. Any specific parts you want to know, let me know and maybe I can help, or there are a lot of other people on the forum or at Fastlane who can help.
