battery for key

just wondering how I replace a battery for a 2000 c 280

If its the same as my c220, us pry the remote open using a dime. It should pop open revealing the nickel-size battery inside.

Dont go prying. If it is a Smart-Key release the spare key by sliding the tab over, you will find a gray bar in the opening, slide that and it should open like a drawer (smart-key has no mechanical key that fits into ignition, has plastic end)
