560 SEL Idle "Again"

I have a big exhaust leak prior the muffler yet to be repaired and still am fighting the "start up rough idle" issue.

Once it runs for say 5 miles it clears up, sits more than 15 min , same thing.

Question: Could the "exhaust leak" have anything to do with the rough idle??
Still think it may be the accumulator or the injectors leaking down!

Help

John1, CHECK for vacuum leak, I'm sure u have a leak. Do u know how to check for that leak? If not I'll tell u:
First remove the air filter. While the engine is running pour some water on the injectors themselves (ALWAY pour AWAY from any electrical part). if u hared a wheezing sound then u must change the injector seals. Be aware that there are two seals, one up and one down. Change both on the injector that u hared a wheezing.

Also make sure that all of the spark plugs are fixed properly. Check all 8 sparks.

Finally, after u change all of the defective seals and checked the spark plugs, realign the fuel distributor if needed.

Good luck...

Not too sure what re-aligning the fuel distributor means..are you talking about the air metering plate??

How many miles on your 560? When was cap/rotor/wires done last? O2 sensor? Motor mounts? What kind of fuel mileage are you seeing? What spark plugs are you running?

Yes they are. One called Fuel Injector Seal and the other called Fuel Injector Holder. Here are the pics.

And don't forget the Air Distibution Hoses, you need two of the, one for each side.

If you current injectors have over 100K on them I would strongly consider replacing them as well.. For one, pricing on injectors continues to go up, so considering it's something that will need doing you can do it for less now then 6 months from now..

Plus, I'm really not a fan of double work...

Use a pair of small vise grips and pop sickle sticks to squees the small hose from the accumulator, thenpull the hose off see if it leaks, run the car shut it down several times if at any time the fuel runs out replace it.JNT
