i can't believe that they put plastic screens in a fd, are you sure. what about soaking in in that cleaner CLR?

so the recomendation is clean it with carb cleaner and some air pressure and hope

Well, I wouldn't back flush junk into my FD... I'd take it apart and clean it as properly as possible.
Besides, the rubber orings/bellows etc in there take quite a beating when you pump lots of carb clean through. Jonathan

thought you said i couldn't open it up? i am not a mechanic as you have figured out by now. just don't have $400 for a reman at this time, and have no intrest in getting rid of the car. just trying to figure how to get those 2 ports open

You can open it, you just need to be Careful, pay attention to what goes where etc.
If you take your time, even take a few pictures as it come apart you shouldn't have a hard time. Just don't turn any of the adjusters on each port..they are set as they are for a reason. Jonathan
