w202 front-seat reality check

Hi All,

First post - been doing some background reading etc, here but thought I'd come out with the point-blank question... This is partially MB related, so please bare with me on the toyota divergence

So I've got an '88 Toyo LandCruiser with really bad front seats and I bought a set of fronts from a local guy out of a parted '96 C36. I'd like to swap the seats out and realize I'm in for quite a bit of tinkering to make them work, assuming I can get the mounting adapters taken care of without too much hassle, the thing that has me a bit concerned is the electronics. The seats themselves came with everything attached to the seat intact but no wiring harness or controls (clearly those went with the door panels). The guy I bought the seats from was suggesting I could use some general non-MB specific switching to accomodate the adjustment & heat on these things and he has gotten the wiring diagrams for me although I haven't been able to pick them up to give them a thorough once-over yet. Another guy I've talked to says that he's seen people try to swap these seats over to another vehicle before but never seen anybody do it successfully. In reading things on the site here, I'm seeing references to everything being computer controlled on these vehicles (including windows etc) and am just wondering if I've gotten myself in over my head thinking I'm going to be able to easily (or even with some minor difficulties ) get these seats operating in the LC. Any advise or suggestions are extremely welcome - even if it's a "you should sell the seats and find something else"

thanks in advace
ryan
