My AC isn't cooling at all and I first wanted to see if it just needs a charge. I have a 92 190E 2.3. Can I get one of those conversion kits for the R134 and charge it that way? and if so where are the ports? Thanks for any expertise.

Very good question because I have the same problem. My 1992 300D 2.5 blows hot air out.
This morning I had it recharged with R12, there are no bubbles in the glass hole. But still blowing cold air, the auxillary fans dont come on. The weather today is about 65-75 degrees. Any ideas? |

by the way, shortly after I start the car, I would hear a pop on the center vents. Vaccum shutting off the center vents or something, but it still blows hot air, so I know it didnt shut it. Funny you never notice this kind of stuff till your sweating your butt off in the car.

beyeker, ...I have mine retrofit from R-12 to 134A. There's a lot of parts that were replace to accomodate 134A. check with an A/C tech and ask for further info. You can't mix R-12 and 134A..... |
