94 E320 sedan AC woes
I just replaced a belt and tensioner last month...trouble began as the engine started making a tweeting noise and eventually the AC wouldn't blow cold. After the belt and tensioner all was great AC blew cold no problems..
Last night on ride home started making a tweeting sound again and AC really wasn't cold except for an the highway. Today I start the car and after a few minutes I put on the AC and the fan on second speed and nothing...no AC, no fan on any speed..nothing....? No tweeting noise either... Can anyone offer up some advice on this one?

Is the compressor turning? Do you have pressure in the system?

I just replaced a serpentine belt, tensioner and dampener....all was fine, now...nothing ...the system doesn't even turn on....not hot, not cold not even the vent....the blower is dead...
I am thinking perhaps a fuse...but I do not know where to look for this..

Should be a single strip fuse in a separate holder on the left wheel well.

I figure its a fuse because the blower is dead...I cannot get any air out of the vents at all...

yup..turned out to be a 16amp fuse...changed out and viola..all fine.
I do hear a chirping from what seems to be the blower...it sounds kinda like a hamster wheel on lowest setting..medium it goes away....I wonder if this causes the fuse to blow...

I changed all my fuses in the fuse box I can reach. I got new breaks and pads
and I still have a tweeting noise. If I stop my car an it cools down the tweeting goes away so the mechanic's can never hear it since I have to turn my car off or let it run and put it in park to go and get them and then of course it goes away since the parking break ha been on for a while??? I am going crazy, since I cannot afford a new car now and I have to go for medical treatments that are not that close to home with my car tweeting louder and louder all the way!!! Please can someone tell me when to look for other fuses aside from the box I can reach under the hood and in the trunk of and 1992 500SL. I will be most greatful ![]() |
