Newbee, question

Good morning, newbe asking a question to the pros. I am possibly going to purchase a 79 450SL. The vehicle is not bad as far as rust, lowers mostly, the engine runs great, new trans installed last year, but it needs manifold and y pipe. Is this a hugh cost or minimal? thanks, Russ

Could be the tip of the iceberg. As the saying goes, "There's nothing more expensive than a cheap Mercedes." Rust in an of itself means big dollars to fix.

Maybe not a great idea to buy this car, which is now, what, 27 years old!
