Bosch ECU part number for a 300TE

Hi there. I have a 300TE that the local dealership says need a new ECU. At first they thought it was the 02 sensor so I replace that but I still have a rough idle. I searched around here and found that my OVP might be busted too but I checked the voltage on it and it is fine.

The local mercedes dealership says I need mercedes part number 011 545 28 32 but my car currently has mercedes part number 008 545 82 32 / Bosch #0 280 800 322. Maybe they are compatible?

I have looked around on ebay and there are a few other replacement ECU's that sellers claim will work with my car including Bosch #'s 0 280 800 256 and 0 280 800 450.

Does anyone know the Bosch #'s of compatible replacement ECU's for a California model 300TE?

Thanks.

There have been 3 numbers used for that application.

The 1st was the 008-545-28-32, 2nd was 011-545-01-32, & last is 011-545-28-32....any should work!

The Bosch 0 280 800 450 is the latest #..011-545-28-32

not that i dont have confidence in the local dealers diagnosis but was the basic tuneup performed recently?sparkplugs, sparkplug wires, cap and rotor are absolutely essential and need replacement more frequently than CPUs

No, it has not had plugs, wires ect.. I'll keep that in mind and I appreciate your sentiments on local dealerships. This visit, however, the dealership had another 300te in and they swapped in the other cars ECU and claimed my idle problem was fixed. I am hopeful that they are right!

Thanks M.B.Doc. I contacted Bosch and they gave me a different number - MB:011 545 27 32 or Bosch: 0 280 800 448. They claimed it is what they recommend for a 3litre 1990 300te.

Anyway, the 0 280 800 322 worked for many years just fine (probably the original) and given the 0 280 800 450 succeeds this part I picked up a 0 280 800 450 on ebay - thanks again.
