Help me find a part!!
Hello fellow Mercedes lovers.
Recently I installed a new fuel distributor on my '85 500SEL. As I am looking at the fuel distributor from the front of the car, the right side of the fuel distributor has multiple fuel fittings that fuel lines attach to. I'm not talking about the 8 fuel lines that attach to the top, but the fittings that screw into the side that fuel lines screw onto. On the right side, and the very last (very back) of the fuel distributor, there is a different fitting that allows a banjo type fuel line to go over the fitting, then also has threads to allow another fuel line to screw onto the end of it. I NEED THIS FUEL FITTING!!! This fitting also has 3 holes drilled around it (making a weak point) to allow the fuel to enter it from the banjo style fuel line. Apparently I don't realize my own strength and have not only snapped the new one that came with the new fuel distributor, but snapped the old one too when tightening it up. I have looked online at almost every website I can imagine to find this part, and have not had any luck. I have also went to a Mercedes-Benz dealer and the guy at the parts desk acted like he had never seen a Mercedes engine in his life (which actually......he probably hasn't.....he printed me out a picture of a "generic" fuel distributor, even after I told him the model of my car....he was nothing but rude with his replies to my questions). I asked him if I brought in the part if it would be of any help, and he replied "maybe." In addition to these searches, I have also searched pull-a-part junkyards with no luck. So please, if someone can help me with a reference, or maybe even if someone has a spare one lying around, I'd really appreciate it. The part can't be over 2 or 3 bucks! Its just a matter of finding the thing without purchasing another fuel distributor (hundreds of dollars...) and it is the ONLY thing I need in order to get my 200 dollar beauty running!! I had to attach a picture of the car just to show how I basically stole this car from a desperate old man! He wanted 700, and I said 200, and he said "ok." In addition, I saw the previous owner driving it around town two months before I bought it, so I know it has potential! He got a job in another state and left it behind! Any help to get it back on the pavement would be greatly appreciated!! THANKS! J. Ray

Yes!!
WOW!
Thank you SO much! You may have just made my day! maybe even my week! So can I order from the Mercedes-Benz website, or do I have to go to the dealership? I suppose I could look, but I've got to get somewhere right now and am going to be gone all day, so I might as well ask that too. I suppose having a parts catalog or even a car manual might have helped me with the info I needed... Where do you get such info? Like the part number you supplied me with? Thanks! J.Ray
