trunk wont open with key

00 E430, the trunk wont open with the key. have tried both keys in the big and small IR keys. I can insert the key and push the key but the metal key doesnt turn right or left as indicated in the manual.
Any ideas ? Is the lock jammed or am I missing something ?
thnx.

1 - you dont have much leverage with that blade. you sure you are using
sufficient force to turn?

2 - can you using the same key and open driver side door?

3 - when using in truck lock, do you feel resistance as if the 'tumblers' are not
tripped, ie the key is not matched for the lock?

Yes tried sufficient force to turn, can open the door using the same key, and didn't feel any resistance. It's just that the key slides in and out, i can push the lock mechanism but can't turn the key in either the right or the left direction...

not sure if i follow, but i'm referring to the trunk lock on the back of the car where you put the key to open it up from the outside. right below where the registration plate is.

I only use the remote button for my trunk, but don't you turn the key blade first and then push the button?

My blade works

Not too much effort to turn in either direction either. Sounds like your lock cylinder may be bad.
