c280 cruise control issues

I have a 1994 c280 that i have been having problems with. the cruise control seems to run sporatically. Mostly what I experience is that it will run during the first couple minutes of running but after that the cruise fails to work (with rare exception.) I ocassionally (once a week or less) see an abs/asr light but it appears to reset when the car has been restarted and am not sure if it is related. I have done a search here and found info that refers to possible brake switch or cruise amplifier ( but cannot determiine from the forum if mine has one.) does anyone have any ideas how I should approach this??

thanks in advance!

msethk

i had taken that into consideration as well so thanks for re-affirming that pressure might be a problem. I drive a lot of highway miles so I watch the pressure carefully and it has been ok...

Then I would get the codes and see if they register Brake Switch..

Tire sizing is very sensitive on ASR equipped chassis b/c the ECU compares the speed of all four tires . I have even seen a worn tire of the same size/make trip the CC.
It usually shows up at higher speeds b/c that is when the differential between each tires shows up the most due to higher wheel rpms..

are there codes stored even if the lights are not currently on?

interesting about what you say on the tires. i had to replace one of my tires due to a puncture not too long ago and it would have about 5000 less miles than the other 3 tires. (all four were replaced about 6 months ago.)
