hello folks i am thinking to purchasing a 2001-2002 mercedes S430W for my dad. I woudl like to know if there anything i should be aware of before buying this car. like common problems? corrosion on body? part avability? thank you

Run as fast as you can! These cars are a curse!

Oh where do i start!
-Suspension (AirMatic) fails and leaves car on ground
-Navigation System Faults/ Cuts out
-Radio/ Cuts out needs replacement
-Electronic Stability Program Problems
-Electronic Throttle Problems!
-Transmission Shift Lock Problems

The list goes on and on and on!

This car is a nightmare!!!!

If you want THE BEST S-Class with a V8, get a 1999 S420.

STAY FAAARRRRRR Away from a W220. (As well as early W140's)

A 1998 or 1999 S420 is a great car.
