Unhappy Spring Snapping sound 420 sel, 90 mod.

Well gang, for the last few days I have heard a sound from the right rear of the car, It first happens a few minutes after start up and maybe twice more in a 30 mile run. I feel like it might be the fuel tank pressure release at the cap, Any other thoughts?

check the line going to the charcoal cannister,if it is somehow hooked up so that you have engine vacuum on the tank all the time it could be responsible for noises in a all but empty tank.

Looking at that now no go. she tells me it will not happen when the car is full, down to 1/4 lower than that it starts. I think I will tell her to stop being so cheep and keep it full!
