Low Beam ON when breaking

An unusual behavior started yesterday: when I brake the brake ligths come ON but in addition the pasager site low beam comes ON as well. It is a 99 E300TD with quite some miles on it. Did you encounter this type of problem? I forgot to mention that every time I brake Lamp Not Functioning warning appears in the dashboard, and if I press R to clear it comes back again when I brake. However, the warning doesn't appear when I turn the key in ignition twice and then brake. Any suggestions on how to fit it?

First try disconnecting the tail lamps 1 at a time & see if there is feed back thru that lamp..if not then

The headlamp switch on that car is a computer..may be feeding back into the wrong circuit.

MB Doc,
Thank you for your feedback. I did as you suggested without any success. One more thing - after I turn the engine off and shut the door, the courtesy lights (rear turn signals + brakes + high mount in the back + front turn signals + fog lights + low beams) come ON for about 30 seconds, although I had lights OFF while driving. Quite strange don't you think?
