How do I get this lower body molding off my 300E fender??>>

Here's my field find.... '91 300E 4Matic for $200!! 191K, blown head gasket, body damage, etc... I'll polish it up this weekend and post some pics of before and after...

Any advice on removal of this passenger side front fender and it's moldings is greatly appreciated... Do I just pry off the trim panel with a pry tool?

there will be several clips holding the top and several more near the bottom of the trim piece (on the older models there are two trim strips, and they use the same exact fender on newer models, except that the newer body moldings use both sets of trim clips). use a flathead or something similar to pry outwards (starting from the top rear corner works best for me) once you get one clip popped loose, pull by hand so you don't break the trim. you will definitely need clips for re installation though, I'm pretty sure they carry both types of clips in fastlane. looks like you got a pretty sweet deal there man

EDIT: forgot about the fender itself, there are several bolts under the hood on the inner edge, and 3 more on the front edge of the door. if you open the door at just the right angle you can get at them with a ratchet. I'm pretty sure those are the only bolts holding it on.

Okay guys everything went smooth until the last bolt all the way at the bottom on the left side. How do I reach it?!? I can see it, but have no room to get anything in there. Does the door trim need to be removed too?

Thanks!

are you talking about one of the fender bolts thats behind the door, if so you need to move the door until theres just enough to get a snall ratchet in there, you will need an extension

Yes, I have all the bolts off but the one I cannot reach

Tomorrow, I will loosen the door off the body enough to get to the bolt. Did you have to do this on your 300E to remove the fender?

Also, where is the MB paint code located at on these cars?

Thanks!!!

Paint code is on a metal tag under the hood...right near the hood latch.

Bottom Fender Bolt

You don't have to move/remove the door...you just have to take off the front door bottom plastic panel and then there is enough room to get to that last bolt. I have done it many times..93 500E AND 95 E320.
