98 S-600 W140 horn problems
My horn keeps honking when I drive. How do I take off the horn pad on the steering wheel so that I can see what is the problem with my horn button. It is emabarrassing as the horn honks a continuous blare as I drive down the street. the only way to make it stop temporarily is to hit the horn pad on my steering wheel.
Help anyone. thanks. |

Ignition turned to zero (off) and with key out.
Then you have to disconnect the negative terminal and insulate the negative terminal on the battery. I usa a plastic lunch bag ![]() Then go into the passenger foot well and disconnect the Red Airbag Test Coupling (x11/13). This will disable Airbag from accidental discharge. Then unscrew the two-torx screws on the underside of steering wheel and remove air bag. On re-assembly these are torque to 6 nm. The rest should be self-explanatory. Hope This Helps!

Make sure you have the security code for the radio. You'll need that to reset it. You'll also have to re-sychronise the widows.
