Intermittent charging C280
No warning lights come on as the battery slowly gets weaker until the dash lights pulsate and then the battery is too weak to start the car. Happened about a year ago. Pulled the alternator and the shop found a broken stud (this is not a Bosch) that I probably did removing the field wire. After I installed the alternator, it worked fine. Now it is doing it again. While the dash lights were pulsating I wiggled the wires where they attach to the alternator. The pulsating stopped and the battery charged with the alternator. The wires and the crimped ends look OK. Could be coincidence. Anyway, intermittent charging problems are pretty rare - intermittent battery and alternator is rare too. Thinking a connection, but where? Gotta believe the pulsating dash lights (odometer, temp, etc) are a clue. Any ideas? This is a '95
Let me ask this question....has anyone seen their daytime dash light pulsating dim to bright with a charging problem? If I can figure out the pulsating issue I can fix this thing.
