Pulsating odometer light
I asked a pretty long question Saturday - no response, probably too long. Has anyone seen their daytime dash lights (odometer, temp) pulse from dim to bright with a charging problem? This is the only clue I have to troubleshoot this thing. Also, I do not have the Bosch alternator - will a Bosch fit as a replacement?

Probably a bad Alternator
Could be the brushpack, which I believe also contains the diode, if your model has an Alt with a replaceable brushpack.
Look at the ass end and see if you have a plate with a rounded cover on it held in my 2 screws, if so then shop for a replacement. |

Pulsating Odometer Light
The Bosch would be the one with the replaceable regulator but I do not have that one (I ordered a regulator thinking I had the Bosch). Also, this is intermittent so I am wondering if anyone has found bad crimped connectors where they attach to the alternator - I went through this awhile back, pulled the alternator and had it check at a rebuild shop, then the problem went away for awhile. Will a Bosch fit in place of this one in case I need to replace the alternator?
