I have to replace my 300td starter this weekend and wonder if there are any good advice out there. The haynes manual
talks about dropping the steering track rod so there will be enough room to pull out the starter. Thanks, Tom |

We never do this. If you move the steering all the way to one side, it will open a hole just big enough to get it out.
Be sure to have a good 10mm allen!
