uneven tire wear...?
On the highway only on right corners you can feel the vibration and dull thumping from the left front. Also, the front left tire has wear along the outside edge.
I was under the car today and noticed the guide rod rubber boot is cracked and so is the outer tie rod end. I know this warrants replacement of both but which one do you think is the problem? (or both)

The lower control arm thrust rod bushing failure is a common problem on that W126 chassis. A good starting point. If water enters those parts they are junk, making sure that the rest of the front steering system components are in good condition is also a requirement before re-alignment.
