Differrental lubricant with ASD
My owners manual says that I need 1.2 qt of Hypoid gear oil SAE 90 for lmited slip differentals. All the gear oils that I have looked at (synthetic) dont state that they are for limited slip rears. In fact there are additive tubes that are sold to add to regular oil. What should I use? I want something synthetic. 95 E 300D

Pick up Valvoline High Performance Gear oil 80W-90. Not the synthetic! The synthetics don't really do well in the ASD diff.
Next time you are at the dealer pick up the MB stuff for the next change or order Motul 90PA ![]() |
