This guy is talking about it like the only thing your odometer reflects is miles on the engine. If the engine has just been worked on/replaced, thats fine. But the chassis still has that high mileage on it. Im just saying, its really not hard to come by 190es. So if you can get this one on the CHEAP for 1500 or something, why not just shell out the other 2k for a nice example with lower miles? Save yourself some headaches later on down the road man.
True, true, and that's sort of what I was talking about with old euro cars (or old cars in general). I know it isn't common, but this car was never really allowed to get in the condition that 98% of the $1500-ish 190's are in now.
If it said 150K on the odo, nobody'd bat an eye.
If it was a car that had 300K plus and had been driven by some schmuck that bought it for $1500 and only fixed enough stuff to keep it rolling, absolutely. I've seen a million of em, owned a few too, we all have.
This one, 300K or not, is in better repair with a much better documented history than easily 90% of them around here, plus it's a 93. I just don't see the concern over the mileage if the car is obviously well kept.
I may have to get it just on principle.

And plus I can have lots of mileage badges.

Bare in mind this will be my, ah, 12th 80's euro car in the last decade.
I'm not new at this. I really wouldn't bother with a 190 if it wasn't a standout good car, especially with the mileage. Pics this weekend if I get a chance.
