'83 280se smoked up on the hwy

So, I had issues with my 280se, I don't know if any of you guys remember but the car would shut off when put on drive/reverse after being driven for a while. This continues to happen and worst. I took it on the high way b/c on the highway it performed just fine, but all of the sudden I feel no power on the pedel while i'm on the highway and then I see a state trooper following me behind a huge cloud of smoke. When I opened the hood there was aintifreeze all over the place. It was crazy cause the temp was not above 90 and the sun light was on.
Once the car was home i filled the radiator back up and the car started, it's just not safe to drive now yesterday I drove it to work and there was a slight cloud of smoke coming out of it. I need to know what I need to do to fix this car, I like this car very much and would hate to get rid of it like everyone is telling me to do.

Thank you
Ven

The first thing to do before you figure out about the smoke is ti check for the cooling water leak. It can cause engine hard damage. Alwas watch the engine temp and find the water leak ASAP.

No! I mean check your radatior, water pump and all of the water hoses for leak. I'm praying that your engine head didn't get hurt.

lol. sorry, obviously I do not know much about cars. i'll look for leaks. Speaking of hurting the enginee, one thing i noticed after this happened is that my engine is less noisy and before it was way louder than what it is now. once i push in the pedal there is a point where the car does not give me more power.

so I found a leak coming from a hose connecting to the radiator hose. I have another leak on the line that comes from abs. so far that's about it, but my engine has such a mess of oil i can't really tell where that's coming from.

thank you

Exclamation

Okay, so I've been looking for leaks. I removed the air intake pan and I found a random wire, which ends as some sort of harness. It's coming, seemingly, from somewhere around the fuse box, but it was taped with other wires. I can't figure out what it could be from. Also, since i been looking for leacks there is a hose that comes from the back of the engine and connects to another hoes that goes to the radiator and water pump.

i hope you can help me!

sounds like you blew a head gasket or cracked a head.

A compression test would be helpful.

What could've caused this blown head gasket? What is a compression test going to tell us that we gotta know? I can tell the engine lacks power, I feel like I'm pushing the limits when I want her to go over 30mph, but once it goes over it's smoother for it to pick up speed.

Yesterday, I stood looking for more flaws, it seems that the gasket blown might be the header's. hence it seems to be the one leaking all that oil. the excess of oil on the engine is mostly on the right, pass. side. the headers look pretty rusty, including bolts. my mechanic has said he won't touch those.
I luuv miss Daisy she's a pain in the a** she's like the woman u want to get rid off but can't. lol.
I'm willing to do the work. I got some buddies that want to help. I'm prtty sure u guys can tell I do not know much about cars, but I m all for learning! I want to do as much work on it as posible b4 the winter sets in.
I ll get compression test done on the weekend. any warnings/precautions?
