Hi,
I cannot seem to turn the key in my c280, and the gear selector (auto trans) is stuck in P. is there a "shift release" on it somewhere so I can move it?
(it's inconvieniently stuck halfway out the back of the garage.)

If there is an " accordian " cover around the shifter ( it moves with the shifter ), push it forward, insert a pencil and try to shift.

FYI, I did find out on these bloody '94's that if you remove the wood fascia, right beside the shifter is a series of locks, these can be manually lifted/pushed to get to the all important "N".
