The 300SE Project Car.

Well,

a few weeks ago a buddy of mine bought a 90 300SE non-runner. for $800.

He bought it from my long time mechanic who bought it from a customer that did not want to deal with a fuel system issue. When the tow truck brought it to his shop they dropped it and cracked the oil pan around the drain plug area.

We had to put it on his uncle's car hauler (which has never transported this much car before)..it made it to his place in once piece.

That night we decided to look at the crack in the oil pan and see what we could do. His garage floor isn't in the greatest of shape, combined with our fear of engaging the parking break and it not disengaging and our inability to completely chock the rear rendered the factory jack unusable. So we turned to a scissor jack placed under the front cross member. This was successful until one of the back wheels decided to move and the car fell of the jack body slamming itself into a 9 Ton city truck jack. Nothing was broken, the rusted fender was a little damaged. Nothing that can't be fixed.

Rather than post up dozen and dozens of pictures and write a book about what's going on with car. I've decided link to my photobucket album of it.

Let us know what you think so far! We're quite impressed with the car so far did cost but $12 to get it running again. The fuel system problem was a rusted acorn style nut the fuel pump. Ha.
