Two chamber warm up regulator question
Has any on got a two chamber warmup regulator installed with the Bosch number of 0438 140 061? I think they should be on the early 380's and most likley one without the Electronic Idle control valve.
The mercedes original repair say that the top Vac line should be connected to manifold VAC and the Bottom one goes to Atmosphere just after the Idle control valve. Upon acceleration ther is a drop in manifold vac in the top chamber with reference to the bottom chamber and it changes the fuel control pressure to richen up the mixture. Recently I found a replacement one which was installed on a 380 where the Vac lines were connected oposite, with Manafold VAC coming before the ICV connected to the bottom chamber and the top chamber going to atmoshere after the ICV. All the Vac line looked original and are molded to fit the possition they ware in so they can't have been swapped around. There was no extra vac lines to be found that would suggest there was originaly a 3 chamber one installed as these have Atmosphere connected to the top and two manifold vac lines at the bottom (one through a delay valve). Would anyone know if there are two different types of twin chamber WUR's that connect opposite to each other? I think I have found reference that the 0438 140 061 and 0438 140 045 are compatable do they connect opposite to each other? My car has had a few alterations, so I would like to know how my 061 should connect, as I don't want to be leaning it of under accelleration instead of richening it up. Damian |
