Angry Broke EGR tube fitting after changing head gasket

Hello everyone,

I hope someone can give me some advice. I have a 1992 300te wagon that had a couple of problems. Notably it had failed CA emmisions and I had a bad leak at the head gasket.

Over the weekend with the help of a mechanic friend I changed out the head gasket and the oxygen sensor on the car. After we got the head back together were were putting on the new EGR valve and the fitting to the EGR tube broke!!!

I needed the car for work so we put it back together and I ordered a new part from the dealership. Now here's the problem...how the heck do I get the new EGR tube on? Is there anyway to do it without removing the head again?

any help would be very much appreciated! Thanks!!!

I'm not familiar with your engine, but check if this fitting just slides back on the tube. If so it is a compression fitting. Put it back on the tube and tighten the nut.
