Geez, you can buy any proper-sized generic oil cooler you like. Then any hydraulic shop should be able to make you the lines that you need for under a hundred bucks. I'd shop around before I got out that kind of cash.

I just picked up a handful of fittings and twelve feet of hose (with fittings crimped) at the local hydraulic supply today, for about $50.

Cheers, John

Pleas post VIN number of any car repaired in this fashion as its resale value should be zero.

I can agree with John about the hoses, perhaps not on the oil cooler..... Most hydralic shops can make those hoses up using the appropriate pressure rated hose. We pay *extra* for them because MB markets and inventories them for us.

It's rare I see something this non-useful and ill-informed on this otherwise fine forum. This thread is about a 16-year-old car being run on alternative fuel. The repair quote is a substantial percentage of the car's value overall. You really think that having an oil cooler without your precious three-pointed star stamped in the metal is going to affect this vehicle's resale value?!? Asinine.

Looking at your sig... We'll talk to you in 3-4 years, when your two new cars aren't carrying a warranty anymore and are worth less than half than their original sticker prices. Your feelings may change.

Cheers, John
