S600 ETA relearn; not a stupid question

I am almost finished with my 95 S600 t- chain replacement. Also rewired the ETA secondary to the usual wire rot. Replaced the FI harness as well as with lenghts of MAF sensor wire too. When I initially fired the engine, I later discovered the car was in LH mode.: ASR lit. What would be the proper procedure for resetting the computer? How long do I have to let the ETA relearn with the ign on, engine off. BTW, when I initially fired the motor, the car was on jack stands. I now know before I try this again, the codes will need to be reset. Bouhgt a 38 pin -to-obd 11 conn for my scan tool. Will this read the codes and then erase them even though the engine mng. sys is a hybrid of obd1and obd11..? Also, the car has the led blinker set-up too. I do know how to do it this way via Jim F's page. Thanks BTW, your knowledge is golden. Is there an extra step with respect to depressing the accelerator in conjuction with the key on, engine off..?
One more thing: When the motor fired, it leaked coolant in the bach of the motor on the pass side, opposite the 4-way h20 valve i am aware of. It seems when the engine got to temp, the leak seemed to stop. Could this be a head gasket, or....some kind of check valve that has "BB" apparatus to let air pockets escape?. I noticed something like this net to the alt/ recir. pump mount. Is head gasket failure comman with the M120 ? Prior to tear down, the car ran great and no CE light or coolant leaking. Is there something I did or did not do. Any input would be greatly appreciated
