Unhappy 1983 280se transmission ,, not going anywhere!! help

after doing my research 50 pages /back and reading ,this forum/site#1

,, this is my little or big proablem i have:

i have this 1983 mer 280se euro style 6 inline twine cams ,,it was working fine then ,,, few days ago start the car put in drive make a u-turn in my street then the engine rpm went high,,and thats all the transmission stoped,put in revers nothing,,put in d,2,3 nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!

the engine runs okay,,i check the trany fluids and are okay,,
can some one tell me what steps i need to take ,,if is there any sensors that may need to be ajust,,(i have dextron III-in it)

i have no manual on the car,,will be okay if i can find some info for repair on this car also,,


i anyone can give me any advice on this issue ,,i will appreciate ,,thanks in advance!

Other than making sure that the driveshaft is still connected & the trans is full of fluid, you have a dead transmission.

today i'm going under the car to inspect the trany,,,but is all wird,,the trany was running perfect then i just start the car make the u-turn and then the tranny did not want to go anyware,, i dodnt think the trany is dead is proably i sensor,,,but i have to do my inspection first before anythink else
i know i had same problem before with a 99 dodge intrepid i did this to me the same about7 years ago,,,and i change the control selenoid or samething like this i dont remeber ,and after it was fine,,
i will check and come with the info!...

okay,,this is what i check:
fluid ok
on the driver side tranny there is one small aer vacum going up to intake
on the same side there is a sensor with 4 wires is a round plug
the plug has this numbers: merceds-benz
010 545 95 28
09 8694 00
the plug has 4 round pins -- is this the governor?

or about the kickdown switch from under the gas pedal,,my rpm stays cain high at 1000+ rpms,,, maybe this does not let my tranny go??

next i put one side of the car up and put and put in r/n/d/1/2 and when i accelerate the rear wheell is turning little bit,,, so anyone has any idea whats going on?,,,

Read my post AGAIN...purely a mechanical transmission. IF it has trans OIL & the driveshaft is connected it will move unless the trans is bad.

okay,,
on this year i have,,do you know what transmissions maybe the same like the one i have right now,,,because i was to auto zone to buy a vacum hose and they dont even have this model in the computer!,,,so maybe if i go to find a tranny what other cars they may have the tranny the same?,,
thanks for your help!


(p.s. before i got this car 2,3 monts ago this guy change the tranny oil filter and oil pan gasket,,do you think he touched something and just now it comes louse?)

okay,, i took the tranny down today,,and i put it in parking and and turn from the rear of the tranny,,bun is not turning so this step is okay,,,
next put in r/n/d/2/3/ (took the convertor out) put my hand in the housing and keep the axel not tu turn and turnet from the rear and it slips ,,,

can some one explain how a convertor works? when put in r/d/2/3/ it should turn the convertor axel? well when i turnet from the reaar i can stop the axell in the housing!,,, so this means that the tranny is bad!?,,

,,replace with other one,,works okay,,

now i think i need a tune up,, my engine runs at 1500 rps when put into drive or reverse ,,it wants to go....,,
anyone knows where i can find some new parts for tuneup,, for my 1983 280se 6 inline,,
