Post Air Mass Meter Flow Sensor

I have a 97MB E420, and the Air Meter Flow need to be replaced. Can I do it myself? cause it looks pretty simple. I was told that the new part needs to be calibrated and I don't know much about that.

Bolt on part, calibrate by driving the car.

Moderator, can we get a sticky about MAF general info? There are probably 1000 threads that already cover this subject

Replacing the insert as Dan suggests is the least expensive way to go. Have you tried simply cleaning the insert with a product like CRC MAF Sensor Cleaner (AutoZone, NAPA, PepBoys, etc). It worked like a charm for me as the sensor wire was intact, just dirty. At $6/can, if your sensor wire is unbroken, you may want to try this first.

I've got the CRC cleaner, but not sure how to access the MAF, or what it looks like. Can someone direct me to instructions. Thanks.

Your car does not have a MAF/MAS (or anything close).
