1989300te...SLS question

1989 300te...Well the new accumulators are in...the fluid is low. What fluid do I use? Is it available other than the dealer ($$)? Do I need to bleed the system? If so, HOW?

I didn't bleed my wagon after changing the accumulators and there was no need to. The oil from Benz is expensive, but you only need 2 liters for a complete fill. How much can you save?

DOnt reuse fluid ever. It is very inportant that the fluid is in good condition to keep the system clean and working correctly. The SLS system is expensive and tempermental, dont mess with it by reusing or not changing fluid atrecommended intervals. You can buy it online for about 8-10 a liter. I think Mercedesshop has it, call Phil. I know I have bought it from 2 or 3 diff online parts shops for $8-10 a liter. I always just buy one more than I need so I have it on hand for refills or topping the resevoir off. The fluid you get online will be the correct MB OEM fluid, just not at the Dealer cost.
