OK, whats the real truth about electronic brakes ?

There are tons of 03 to 06 E class cars out there that I lust after, but won't consider because of the electronic brakes. Any real feedback on the problems or long term care of these devices ?

There were some one-time fixes required on the earlier versions--they should have been completed by now.

Think they had it right by '06, as ours has been trouble free.

The system makes noise at times, but that's normal.

Warranty on whole system has been extended to 10 years.

Nothing to worry about and a fantastic system.
