It appears a little high to me too, but it might be worth it.

It's a W124 300CE, which were sold in limited numbers to begin with.

It's an incredibly clean, low mileage example, of which there are likely very few left.

It's also in what I believe is a very rare color. It looks a lot like almandine red, which happens to be my favorite color in a Benz.

If I was in the market for a W124 coupe, I'd pay the price and never look back.

So you can either look down a couple post for some color choices titled as "when exactly does the asr kick in".i was thinking about my e420 re-painted from stock to new. And was thinking around black, candy apple red, or like a razberry blue type color. what colors do u think looks great on a 92 e420?

lol ya i only live about 2hours away from st. louis so getting theres not a problem. is this model a very good model compared to my 1994 e420? i would LOVE tohave a coup and i also love this red wine color. ill probably be painting my e420 that exact color if i dont get this. so its alittle over priced?hmmm but man its over priced but cheap at the same timefor a great looking car. ive never bought a car on ebay so im a 1st timer for ebay cars. ive bought plenty of electronic stuff but not any cars yet. man im having trouble not buying this car, i really want it but the funds are almost there. ive only got about $5-6k toovspend on a car.

Color preferences are a very personal thing, but I'm more of a stock color kind of a guy.

I like W124's in black (040 black), smoke silver, almandine red, and silver.

I said I'm not sure it's over-priced. It's unfair to compare pricing on these coupes to sedans, which are a dime a dozen, or even wagons. I just haven't followed pricing on the coupes.

I am of the opinion that it's a better idea to pay a high price for a clean car with no deferred maintenance than a low price for a car that needs work.

yeah but mines white with some very minor rust around some trimming. so i would be fixing that also. and yeah stock is so so im not a fan of white cars so yeah i still love my e420 but if the colorwas diff it would make it look laot better. most likly painting it that almandine red color. see i dont know if there aare any paint shops around where i live so would be taking it to body shops and asking them to do it or where ever they send there cars off to get painted.

E420, I bought 2 cars from that dealer.

My first purchase was my 1988 560 sl with 44,000 original miles. The car turned out to be perfect. No accident damage, no paint work etc. Both my Mercedes indie and my body specialist in Michigan gave it an A+.

This year, I bought a 1995 E320 with 51,000 original miles from them. The experience was not as perfect as the first. The car has turned out to be perfect mechanically but they gave it the old cheap used car lot treatment before I arrived to pick it up. The old lady who owned it since new parked it with "feeling" and there was some damage to the bumpers. They did an extremely lousy respray using the wrong color! I ended up with golden bumpers! needless to say, I had them resprayed to the correct color. Also, the passenger side had been badly resprayed from getting dented and scratched but it was not described in the details. An extensive detail job by yours truly has made the car look 90% perfect.

Items that were not working correctly but advertised as perfect were the sunroof and antenna. I fixed all the issues myself saving lots of $$$.

Do I regret the purchase? Not at all. the car looks perfect, almost. The interior is immaculate, and it should be with only 51,000 mile. I bought as my commuter/winter car.
My issue with some dealers is the crap they use to "shine up" the car for sale. Just leave as original so we can see what we are getting.
