1997 S-500 Passenger Seat Grinding

Have a problem with the passenger seat in my 1997 S-500.
It will move down, but when moves up - sounds like a gear with missing teeth. Kind of bumps, but doesn't move the seat.
Is this a difficult fix? Or should I ignore it?
