W210 4matic alignment

My dad just purchased a '99 E320 4matic from an MB dealer. During the test drive we noticed the steering wheel pointed to the right. The car does not pull, and it tracks straight. We mentioned this to the dealer and they told us it didn't need an alignment and they would just straighted the steering wheel. Just before delivery they told us the steering angle cannot be adjusted "because of the electronic stability program as it will throw off the steering angle sensor". Is this true?

Your expert advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
