Sorry I didn't realize my profile hasn't been filled out. I've spent $550 plus time so far, and I'm ready to try and cancel my transaction via eBay. I'd need to make profit in order to bring the car home from upstate NY, Hudson Falls, NY to my friend's warehouse in Wilmington, Delaware. But I've had some request for the pedals and possibly manual windows (yet to be verified).

I've seen CLK manual transmissions on ebay every now and then for about 900$ recently.
There are also a few findable at www.car-part.com with varied prices. -CTH |

OK, old thread I know, but this is exactly the swap I'm contemplating doing, and it would be a HUGE help if someone here who's already done it could give a definitive list of what parts are needed.
I have: an '87 300D Turbo with troublesome slushbox I will be buying: 190E 2.3-16 transmission but nothing else I can easily get: 190E 2.3 pedal assembly, shifter, shift rods, flywheel, clutch, master & slave cylinders Also, there's a good shop locally that can shorten or lengthen the driveshaft as necessary and rebalance it. What am I missing?

haven't reread the thread, but you need to be aware that the 16 valve trans does not have an overdrive 5th. It's nearly the same ratio as your auto box's 4th. A non 16vlv manual trans will have its 4th same as the auto box 4th (around 1:1 ratio). Its 5th is around .78:1 ratio giving it rather long legs. Also, research the use of gasser flywheel on the diesel.
EDIT: add manual trans cross-member for your chassis. Also the wood shifter surround is different.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And I had tho that it was a no brainer purchase. LOL. No title as the guy sent it to Albany and decided not to pay the $250 registration and inspection fees. I assume if you aren't a NY state resident, then forget about getting the title. 200k and it probably has rust being a Massachusetts and Upstate NY car.
