Cool 97 E420 Check Engine Light

DRIVING CAR TODAY AND CAR STARTED SKIPPING AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON.IT SAYS CHECK ENGINE ELECTONICS.IF YOU REV IT UP IT SEEMS TO BE OKAY.BUT AT AN IDLE ITS SOUNDS LIKE ITS MISSING.ALSO SMELLS LIKE RAW GAS.THANKS

There's some pretty good guessers here, if you go somewhere and have them read the code it will help narrow things down considerably. Autozone does it for free in some parts of the country.

Take it to Autozone and they will read the code for you and tell you which cylinder is missing.

Once I Fix The Car How Do I Get The Check Engine Light To Reset Itself?will Reset If I Unhook The Battery?thanks

Autozone can clear it using their generic OBDII scanner, or you can pull the battery cable for 30 minutes, or pending which code it is it may well clear itself once repaired.

If you are going to work on it yourself, ask santa for a simple OBDII scanner; it is the best insurance available that you wont need it.

sounds like a possible problem with coils.
